Chairman

Besides his role in Qeshm Energy, Dr Ghorban is also the Managing Director of Narkangan Gas To Liquid International Co. as well as a Director of the International Institute for Caspian Studies (IICS). He also directs the Energy Department, Asian Pacific Inc (API). Dr Ghorban has a B.Sc. from the American University of Beirut, an M.Phil from Brunel University, UK, and a Ph.D. in Petroleum Economics from the University of London. Dr. Ghorban has been an independent energy consultant in UK and Iran since 1979 in which position he has consulted several organizations and international companies. He has also worked with the Institute for Political and International Studies, the Institute for International Energy Studies and a number of Iranian companies engaged in oil, gas and petrochemicals business in Iran. Dr. Ghorban is a fellow of the Institute of Petroleum. (IP) London, a member of the Royal Institute of International Affairs (RIIA), London, a member of the International Institute of Strategic Studies (IISS), London, a member of the Iran Association of Energy Economics (IAEE), Tehran as well as a member of the International Institute for Caspian Studies (IICS) Tehran. Dr. Ghorban has published many articles and scientific papers in various international journals.

Vice Chairman

Besides his role in Qeshm Energy, Mr Shekarchian is the Managing Director of Pendar Tech Engineering and Consulting (EPC Contractor to the National Petrochemical Company) in Iran.  Mr. Shekarchian has earned his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from West Virginia University as well as his Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of California-Berkeley in 1970. He has been responsible for the Technology transfer to Toshiba and Hitachi in Power Section of General Electrics in San Jose California. After his return to Iran, he has been involved as an entrepreneur in different sectors such as construction, trade, marketing, telecommunication, engineering, management and insurance.

Managing Director

Dr. Khajehpour is the Managing Director of Qeshm Energy. He is also the Chairman and co-founder of the Atieh Group of Companies, a group of strategic consulting firms based in Tehran, Iran. He is also a Senior Associate of Menas Associates in the UK Furthermore, he is a Member of the Board of Atieh Dadeh Pardaz, an IT consulting firm. Dr. Khajehpour is German and UK-educated in management and economy and has completed his Doctorate of Business Administration at the International School of Management in Paris.  Prior to joining Qeshm Energy, he worked as the managing director of Atieh Bahar Consulting and mainly engaged in strategic consulting to international companies investing in Iran. He has also commented on business and strategic developments of Iran, especially through contributions to international conferences and reviews on Iran and the region. Among his publications are contributions to the following books published in the US: “Caspian Region – New Frontiers”, “Iran at Crossroads”, and “Security in the Persian Gulf: Origins, Obstacles, and the Search for Consensus”.

Member of the Board

Dr. Arbabha is a Member of the Board at Qeshm Energy and is actively involved in the management of the company. He is also the Managing Director of Doran Energy, a company specializing in petrochemical projects outside of the Free Zone Areas. He is also a financial consultant to several private sector petrochemical companies including Narkangan Gas to Liquid International Corporation. Prior to returning to Iran, Dr Arbabha spent 7 years in private equity for a North American company where he performed deal sourcing, risk analysis and potential exit strategies for companies in technology, manufacturing, pharmaceutical and oil and gas in the company’s investment portfolio. He was also involved in developing turnaround strategy with turnaround groups in evaluating distressed companies for acquisition into the company’s crisis portfolio. Dr. Arbabha is also a medical doctor and has received numerous awards including The Merck Award and induction into Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society. Dr Arbabha has presented and published many articles and scientific papers in various international journals in the fields of medicine and finance, specifically hedging strategies and tax strategies. Dr Arbabha has degrees from Brown University and Columbia University.

Corporate Member of the Board

Noor is a UAE based company involved in investing activities throughout Asia. Its major shareholder is AK Al-Muhaidib Group, a Saudi based group with diversified holdings. AK Al-Muhaidib Groups’ initial commercial activity started in 1943 in commodity trading, steel and cement. The group grew into one of the largest trading groups in the region and diversified into related businesses, including Food Processing and Transport. By the 1970s, the Group’s primary operations had moved to Saudi Arabia. By the 1990s with investments in service, manufacturing and retail, the Group came to be recognized as a major conglomerate, with diverse holding in Food Processing, Transport, Construction, Power, Oil and Gas and Petrochemicals to name a few. The Group’s revenues in the year 2004 were $ 1.4 Billion. In 2005 the revenue reached $1.7 Billion, an increase of over 20%. The Group has around 8000 employees.
